Coaching notes
- Why do it
- Incline raises the effort and works glutes and calves while staying low-impact on the knees.
- Breathing
- Steady breathing; short sentences should still be possible.
- Tempo
- Warm up flat · hold the incline · lower it to cool down.
Be careful
- Clip the safety key to your clothing.
- Raise the incline gradually — calves and shins need time to adapt.
- Ease back if your lower back or shins ache.
Common mistakes
- Hanging off the handrails
- Leaning far forward from the hips
- Jumping straight to a steep incline
